Food Review :: Soi Thai

Have been here before and I'm back! :D

We were served these before everything else:

Light, greasy, but good.

And finally the food came! ^_^

The soup was flavourful, sour, and spicy!

Then came the veg rolls, hot and crispy. The dipping sauce was good too, it was sweet, cold, with a fruity taste and texture!

This is Chicken in Green Curry! Which I love! This restaurant adds a little twist to their curry by adding basil leaves. [Someone has discovered my version of curry! =_= I thought I was the only one who did that! Haha.]

We had garlic rice to go with everything. t'was a perfect choice.


Eggplant. Was also scrumptious.

Paris - entry 001

We arrived in Paris (from Barcelona via Easyjet).











Before, I only got to say "Je veux acheter des billets..." when we had practice conversations in Frenh class, but now I actually get to say it for real.XD



Some photos from when we took the RER from CDG to Luxembourg:



Empty train looks rather nice. XD Although it was not as I expected... The train was old. Getting on and off the train was not so convenient. The walkway was narrow, and me carrying a backpack, a shoulder bag, and my luggage did not help at all.



What I liked about it were the large windows, and how nice it is to just sit there and look outside..

Bacon Maki

My first microwaved bacon strips.XD [Hachi would be so proud of me!]



A friend suggested it, and since we had some unused leftover bacon from a pasta episode the day before, decided to experiment... Popped it in for 4 minutes. I think I may have overcooked it for a wee bit. =_="



And since I had some Nori and Kewpie Mayo that is about to expire soon, I rolled them up.XD



Wish I had some wasabi to go with it, but seems my wasabi in the fridge has also expired. o_O"



It tasted lovely as it is though.

Organizing some photos with this plate next to me-- was reminded of Nodame and Chiaki and the onigiris (and how much I feel like watching the anime again)! xD

Things to do 20120312

Thought I'd post the things I'll be doing today:

• Download German podcasts
  
• Study German [1.5hrs]
  
• Read French blogs [1.0hr]
  
• Watch an episode of Sherlock Holmes (UK Version).*_*V [1.0hr]
  
• Copy some Russian alphabet exercises so I can do them tomorrow. [0.5hr]
  
• That'll last me until 12mn, then I have to do some chores and paperworks.[0.5hr]
  

Haha, let us hope I stick to this plan!>_<

Food Review :: Tempura

To give you an idea of what's on their menu..

A look at some of the japanese-inspired images on their walls.

We ordered our favourite -- Tofu Steak -- still as good as it's always been! We nommed everything down including the plate!



Ebi Tempura - (you get a choice of Wasabi Tempura, Chizu Tempura, or just Classic. We got the Classic.)



..good and crunchy. But felt very full after gobbling down two of them! XD

We also decided to try something different today, the Ebi Bacon Maki, which was a new "must-try" item on their menu.



..quite disappointing! The picture on their menu didn't have sauce in it, but when it was served to us the makis were swimming in thick sauce. Was also too salty for me. Felt that it didn't need any more sauce because the bacon itself was flavourful enough on its own.

Next time I should probably stick to "the usual"!

Comments:

-service was still incredibly sluggish, but why I keep coming back to this place is because of their Tofu and Tempura!:3
-why the service was 8.5 this time was because we were served warm tea without us having to ask (which we normally have to do...because they will just pretend to forget if you don't ask), and also because none of the waiters pretended 'not to see' when we called their attention. [why I say this is because the service has always been awful here. From seating, to attitude, .. but maybe they are trying to improve.]
-if they keep up with better service I might be a tad more generous with the tip.
