A day at the post office

Feeling all touristy and snapping away at the post office today.

Would you believe I have never been here?

Ancient-looking postboxes

There was no one here.. Everything was old.

This was taken from the entrance.

The post office was huge, with a high ceiling, and tons of windows!! (There was even one for telegrams-- surprising!! Apparently there are people who still use this method of communication! :O)

Sadly, I have no photos to show you because *they* forbade photography. (Why??)

So I had to resort to photos outside.

View opposite the post office.

There was a statue of a mailman in front.

Photo of the moon so early in the day!

-

Finally got my package, and to my surprise it has been there since October 2!

I only got the final notice for the pick up today.:3 So I had to rush and get it.

Nevertheless, I'm glad I got it in time.>_<

Photography, rewind.

Had a photowalk at one of the country's oldest districts (taken quite some time ago-- three years ago to be exact)...

Here are some of the ones I've picked out.

A station atop the fortress in B&W.

The sky looks so calm..

The street in monochrome, looks better than in colour, truth be told.
And I love the cobbled walk!

The fortress was built during the Spanish colonization. Have had a tour of this before, should have paid more attention.>_<"
-- from what I read, this was built as far back as 1603, damaged, and reconstructed in 1733 (bomb-proof and all) made to withstand attacks and protect the Real / Inner City.

Architecture reminiscent of the past and what it was once before. (oops, I think I over-sharpened this!)

..And more. I love the beautiful detail that frames the door. The signages too.

I entered the door and this is what it looks like inside.

(I visited on a weekend, and there was no one at the door. I think you have to pay to see the rest of this casa.)

Street names that remained.

And now some more colour, the church nearby.

I shall post some photos of above-mentioned church next time, the façade actually looks superb... I don't think I managed to take a good photo of it though.

--

The reason why I came across these photos again was when I was planning my trip to Madrid and thought-- this looks blah, and that looks like blah! ... Could be the reason why I'm not so thrilled about visiting Madrid!:P But who knows, I've never been, and might like it.

Food Review :: Kenji-tei

My friend and I were here for brunch (as usual, we skipped breakfast...!)

Kenji-tei's menu, for something Japanese, their menu feels --to me, limited.

I loved the restaurant's ambience, however, and it was very well-lit.
The not-so-morning sun was hitting all the right places and a lot of gaijins were dining here as well (during the early hours, anyway).

The works they had on each table..

I had the Seafood Negi Ramen.. Spicy the way I liked it. XD

My friend had Pork in Teriyaki Sauce.

..with a tiny bowl of rice to go with it as well.

I absolutely loved my ramen, beautiful flavour, noodles were also made to perfection.

They don't call themselves Ramen house for nothing!
I only wished it had more meat in it.

My friend was contemplating whether to get some tempura, and i wanted to try the matcha cake. :3 We didnt though, ...maybe this calls for another visit. XD

We were very happy with the service, and I hope it stays that way! :D

Haikyo much?

The creepy "museum" sign seen from the inside...

The ticket booth..

.. Well, believe it or not this "museum" is still in operation! (So it doesn't exactly pass as a haikyo post...sadly! >_<"))

...But such an old building in this condition....I have always wanted a little haikyo adventure of my own...XD

Photography :: Church : 1

Some photos I took the other day, and plan to post on my photoblog.

Was a very beautiful day out! (Although I think it may have caused some minor headache after walking out in the sun for hours without any shade.xD)

Photos were taken with my Canon SX110is (reliable as it ever has been!xD).

Some photos I plan to use on my photoblog:

Beautiful clouds....

I thought the rounded exterior of the building looked nice with a few greens on its foreground.

Have a wonderful mid-week.:D
