Another Daiso Haul 20150314

New buys from Daiso

...

Got this cute mini furni, it's the perfect size for my desk, and the drawers -for stationery.

Bought some fabric tape (thinking of using it for my postcrossing cards actually. :D

The packaging

Ideas on what else you can do with it.

...

Also bought an iron basket.

Wool Socks

Japanese packaging is always so well thought of.

It's also in black but I prefer brown.

Really love the cute winter-reindeer design. :3

I'm actually using them as sleeping-socks. I love to keep my feet warm when I sleep.:3

Clay figures, miniatures

This evening I decided to make some clay. I haven't for a while, and since I have a few series up to marathon.

Here's a super cute totoro, so small. I had a bit of trouble putting some of the stuff in place.

I'm still thinking whether to colour it or not.

UPDATE: sad thing is, when it dried up the left eye fell off, then the arms followed. I will make another one and find a way to fix this....

My version of Macarons.

Kneading the clay into a good, workable consistency.

And here is my macaron:

Did I get the shape just about right?

Putting some life into my macaron, this could be sakura-flavoured (if japanese version.) or rose-flavoured (if the french ladurée version)...>_<

How do you think it fares to the orginal? XD

手作り物

Due to popular demand (Heh.xP), will be posting something about the stuff I make:

[taken with my Samsung s8300..]

The octopus is from an earlier batch (was actually the first successful bunch I made):

-

The melonpan ring I wore to an anime con:

-

More (although have not yet perfected making them-- burger and a bass guitar):

~

Have also made some recently which were a fail! >_< Must have lost my touch at clay-making. Haha. Happens when I take a long break from making them....;p

Photos from previous posts [taken with Canon SX110is..]
(better colour!)...

Random stuff from the past couple of days

Decided to get some studying done earlier this afternoon.

My spanish textbook in the background (and French, upper right).

Wrapped my Spanish dictionary in pink.^_^

And this is all my other stuff in the same shade.

~

Though I'd post a photo of the sculpy I made last month,

Not quite final yet, but I cannot wait to post the photo.n_n;

Still have to add a couple of finishing touches.

~

Was sewing a bag the other day when I decided to make myself some tea.

Wanted to try something different so I picked:

something that looked like this, with a bunch of funny ingredients mixed together in one bag.

And it tasted just like it said it would.

But not exactly my cup of tea, this flavour.

I think I will pick up some Earl Grey next time.

Mouth-watering Melon-pan, メロンパン

With lack of anything to do [-- although there really is a lot to do...n_n""], I thought to do some sculpting and modelling.

This is a japanese "melon-pan".

これがメロンパンです。:)

おいしそうよね。

It took up most of my afternoon but I'm completely satisified with the stuff I managed to do.

-

Here is a look at what it looked like prior to baking:

The melon-pans, all ready to be baked.

-

After about 30-40 mins, here is the result:

Which do you think is better? Glazed or the un-glazed ones?

[front - glazed // back - un-glazed]

I have decided to glaze them all anyway.:)

Some are also more brown/burnt than the others. Depends on one's preference.

I personally like them a little more brown.

~

And here they are, chilling cooling down,

Next is to put them in a nice clear bag, preferably one with cool designs on them.
(I was out of them bags with cute designs, so I used the basic one instead.)

..And give them out to your friends (which I'm sure they would love to receive!)

More inedible goodies in the making.;) Check back soon.
