Archives - 2008 March

24th March 2008, Monday, 21:32:26

I just came back from my trip last night. And it wasn't a pleasant flight! x.x It was horrible! :,c But it was a pretty fun trip nonetheless. I will be posting my pictures soon. ^_^

Here are some random pictures from my trip ::

I bought this for HK$19 from around the corner.
Thought it was kawaii.

these I love to eat ^_^

I found this hanging on the street sign in Kowloon

Here's a glimpse of what I will be posting soon ::

And here are some flowers (and a tree) from Kowloon Park ::
(I'm starting to have this sort of thing with flowers.. they're so pretty to take pictures of)

I painted my nails today ^_^

(it's black with pink hearts on it)

There's not much going on today. French classes aren't until next week, and I'm two days away from my trip. haha! On a sad note though, they took away my turtle last night :( (they didn't really, she just had to stay somewhere else while i was away). And I'm truly grateful for that. ^_^ I just miss my turtle. haha.

I've uploaded new (well, actually old ones that I just uploaded) pictures. ^_^

Here are some of my favorites:

pink flowers we picked up from around the corner in the afternoon

and still Stanley Beach.

So I've uploaded about half of what I've done online. Right now, I'm writing on the "read about my trip" section for the pictures. I actually find it useful for people planning to go but don't know where to go, or people who go there so often they don't know where else to go. haha. (I'm talking about Hong Kong. Probably not for the other places I've only gone to once) ^_^

Check out Bouletcorp.com. Hah, you're going to love those creatures.

Agh. >.< I still have a lot to do with regards to the site (uploading pictures). I hope I finish everything before leaving for Macau/Hong Kong on the 18th. I'm quite psyched about it. Will be in Macau for a couple of days and then I'm off to Hong Kong. I've never been to Macau so it's going to be fun.:)

Moving on, I'm checking out a couple of codes I might use for the site. ack.. hope I come up with something useful. :P

7th March 2008, Friday, 23:45:35

I was out with a couple of friends today. And I've been craving Café Bréton since last week (so we went there) and I had Galette Marakkech (which is funny because I've been watching Feast Bazaar and it featured Morrocan and Syrian food---which i also like).

here are a couple of shots i took today while i was out:

and fishies in the pond:

and by the way, i dressed up my monkey! :p I made him a cute little white shirt (and still planning on making more fashionable ones)

6th March 2008, Thursday, 00:30:09

(1) clip thingy: (for my sis)

(2) and a funny-looking monkey for myself

A couple of things I bought today:

(1) bleach key ring: (front and back view)

(2) deathnote ring on a necklace:

2nd March 2008, Sunday, 20:54:01

I had french this afternoon, and I have to admit, i'm kind of confused now and it is getting kind of complicated. (might also be because I stopped taking french for a while and studied German and Spanish instead). I'm still taking spanish now, as a matter of fact. As for German, I had to stop too because of the limited schedules they had to offer. I seem to like German more than Spanish though. It's more because I feel that Spanish is a really common language now and somehow German seems to interest me more. I am, however, planning to take German again..(if my schedule allows it). haha.

I had a lot to do today. I'm running out of shelves for my books! Besides doing my homework for French this morning, I stuffed a couple of my old books (really old ones that I own and don't plan on reading anymore) into boxes hoping to put up some of the books I haven't read onto my shelf. lol.

Play blog killer here. It was kind of amusing really.

1st March 2008, Saturday, 17:21:08

I have been working really hard on the site (changing the layouts, and the old contents). It might take a while for me to finish the whole thing and upload it since i only get to work on it four nights a week..:sigh:

Spanish was pretty fun today. I was surprised we had free food during our break. I didn't really know what event was being held then, there in school. But everyone was eating and the food was yummy! It was pretty fun because the whole class was cramped into this one little table and we finished loads of plates! haha.

Currently on my ym messenger (and on msn too) -- (background: playing/feeding deers at Nara, I think they will choke from my hugging if I'm left with them for a couple more hours! Heeehee! They are soooo disciplined and friendly!)

Yes, I finally put up a couple of photos after being away from the photobloggie world for so long. [and I haven't even managed to organize photos from my trip yet... = I had to go through a bunch of folders to find "this" or "that" photo.]

I might have to sacrifice a couple of more nights home to finish organizing the files from my trip. And where do I squeeze in the time to study Japanese? Err...!

~

Here are a few trashy uploads from my cam:

Takenoko, I was nibbing on this powersnack before I took out my Japanese paraphernalia (textbook / homework).

I can't nibble on them while I study... Couldn't risk (more like--> I don't like) chocolate smudges.

~

MocchiMochiChoco is something I recently discovered and I love the flavour in my mouth. ♥♥ [Caramel+Mochi+Choc] ♥♥

~

To beat late night hunger pangs....

chinese noodles! >_<

Instant noodle bowl against my desktop... [Tokyo Sky Tree can be seen in the background, blending in with the Tokyo Cityscape. But due to the foggy condition this photo was taken in...it's only barely visible]

And err, that is the result of a 3-year usage. I do have a ton of icons!

I'm curious, how does everyone else's desktop look like? xD

~

Some photos I took before writing this post...

My blog in the background! :D

am loving my fiery red psp, STILL. xD And even more after seeing them on game advertisements in Tokyo.

Here is a fairly new japanese game I got ahold of.

I think there are too many Kanji characters in this game. Haha, most of which I have not studied yet. :P

I prefer ひろのかけら... as it uses hiragana mostly, plus the dialogues are easier to understand.

~

Aya Brea,on the The 3rd Birthday. Gave it a go after reading D's tweet, and now I am hooked.

It is in Japanese. I cannot catch the radio dialogues, but at least I can understand the missions, more or less! xD

Oooh, this game is gorgeous. Gameplay = great, only downside is that it eats up the batt! (I prefer playing this game with the volume maxed up).

~

This is Final Fantasy Crisis Core. English. It's good. Have been playing it for some time but stopped because the missions are all the same (+the maps too)...Not a lot of freedom exploring maps either. I like the enemy encounters though, and the limit breaks.

But this is good on the psp.xD I liked it so much at first.

The best FinaL Fantasy I have played by far might be XII on the PS2. [but I haven't played it for a few months now]

~

My Current PSP theme:

Kingdom Hearts! xD I think it matches the redness perfectly.

~

Was going through some of my Tokyo photos and took this,

and this, with the Harajuku Station in the background.

and again, still in Harajuku.

~

I don't have the Christmas Eve photos as promised. [Sorry!], I will remember to set that album aside for my next post!

Until then, please remind me constantly of what I have yet to post....xD

Bonne nuit!

[after reading Benoist's blog, I realized how bad my French has become, was thinking of commenting but nothing was coming out in French. Definitely not a good sign. =(]

I have decided to follow his tweets too.

[note: of course I can reply in English, but there is that other choice of commenting in French.....n_n::]

I did laundry again this week.. it's the second batch of winter clothing I used during my stay in JP.

Today, it's the third batch.:P And while I wait (for clothes in the dryer), I decided to post.

~

More stuff to wear on my next visit to JP! xD

I love this vest, reminds of Peach from Sunaoni Narenakute. She's not particularly my favourite character, but her wearing it with a dress is lovely.

This pattern is quite popular with the Japanese this season...

It's actually prettier than it looks in the photo, couldn't get a good shot of it with my mobile phone.

Scarf with the vest..

Tags on the vest..

I don't normally wear this kind of hat but it reminded me of the movies I watched.... So I wanted to own it.xD

~

Anyway, need to get back to my laundry.:P

Here is a photo of a local sweet I had with my afternoon tea. (Yes, I drink tea every afternoon -- and almost anytime of the day).

It has been a busy week! I can finally get some rest. Am planning to sleep in till noon tomorrow.

But more importantly, so much has happpened, and so many good things!

Let me start off with a greeting --> Happy new year! ^o^

It's a Japanese tradition (practised even by people today) to go to the temple on New Year's Eve and make your first shrine visit of the year.

And then get a fortune [おみくじ] (in this case it's a hundred yen to get your fortune)

There are good ones and bad ones, and there are those that might seem good to some but bad for some...

Good fortunes are kept and brought home.

Bad ones are meant to be left behind so that it doesn't come true.

if one thinks of it as bad fortune, it's tied up like so..

But I'm too stingy to get myself a みくじ.. (First because I don't believe in it, and second because I'd rather spend it on plushies, drinks, and food. >_<")

~

Japan can get really cold in the winter.. and what better than stalls serving Amazake 「甘酒」. They're allowed to serve this drink to minors too.

It's a very light alcoholic drink made from fermented rice. (Spent 100yen on this one - Better than getting a fortune told, me thinks.). Way to get all warmed up in the cold.

Yum.:)

~

I found this and thought it nice to blog about, it's a little basin to wash one's hands.

I thought this machine was going to be warm but the temp was even colder than sticking your hand in ice.

~

And then it was time to leave the temple grounds, here's a photo of my boots, my ring, and the wooden thing I'm treading on. (neat work, eh?)

~

Headed to Ginza later to get myself some *omnomnom* food!

look at that load of meat!

and then you cook them yourself...

There's also a waffle machine and SUNTORY ビール。

~

And I thought I'd share this cool retro ad I came across. (It's actually everywhere in Tokyo..This one was taken in Ginza.)

~

Oh, I can go on forever about Japan~~

but..

I still have a load of photos to rotate, screen, and categorize.

yes, I guess I am O/C like that.

Photos taken with my mobile phone (have been clearing up some memory for the trip.xD)

Took these last weekend to get a feel of what I'm going to wear.

It's going to take some leg warmers and inner wear.:D Last time I checked it was 0*C and sometimes a -2*C. The weather is clearing up in recent days, but by the looks of it it will get cooler again.

Will probably post some tweets when I do manage to get a signal around places. Typing with the psp is incredibly frustrating though. Most of the time I will probably be on Skype....xP

~

Photos I took while on the road somewhere, a blurry and a rather tolerable shot of a Christmas tree.

Have a Merry Christmas.:)
